Chiropractors specialise in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of neuro-musculoskeletal problems. This means problems with the nerves, bones, joints and muscles. A chiropractor will look at the whole body, not just the specific site of pain or irritation to fix the cause of the problem.
Your chiropractor will create a management plan specifically designed for you.
Follow up appointments take approximately 30 minutes, and both early morning and evening appointments are available, so are easy to fit around a busy schedule. We are dedicated to providing chiropractic care and improving your well being through a healthy spine and nervous system. Our aim is to not only relieve you of your symptoms and address the underlying cause of your problem, but to provide maintenance, ensuring any further stresses or issues are picked-up before they become an issue or repeat of your original condition.
Chiropractic is a method of adjusting the bones of your body to improve the alignment of your skeleton. The purpose of chiropractic care is to realign and rebalance your body to relieve pain and discomfort, and increase mobility.
Did you know that it may be beneficial to have your spine checked at regular intervals by a registered chiropractor?
Chiropractic is the third largest health care profession in the word and is concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mechanical disorders of the muscles, bones and joints together with the effects of these disorders on the function of the nervous system and general health. There is an emphasis on manual treatments including spinal manipulation or adjustment (World Federation of Chiropractic, 1999). Chiropractors may also use other joint and soft-tissue manipulation, and include exercise, health and lifestyle counselling.
Chiropractic offers a natural means other than drugs or surgery to being pain free.
Reduced spinal function can be the result of poor posture, lifestyle factors such as smoking and obesity, accidents, falls and disease. Chiropractors are trained to use their hands to make adjustments to the joints and muscles and to give advice to help patients improve their general wellbeing.
Chiropractic is regulated under the Chiropractors Act 1994 and every chiropractor must be registered with the General Chiropractic Council.
What happens when I visit a chiropractor?
A full case history and examination will be undertaken together with laboratory testing and X-rays if required to enable the chiropractor to make a diagnosis. Sometimes it is necessary to refer the patient to their general medical practitioner if the condition is not appropriate for chiropractic management. You will always be treated with respect and dignity and if it is necessary to remove clothing, you will be offered a gown to wear. Your information will remain strictly confidential. The chiropractor will discuss an appropriate treatment plan with you and answer any questions.

The World Health Organisation philosophy, we believe that good health is not just the absence of pain or disease, but a positive sense of physical, emotional and mental well-being. The more balanced the body is, the better it will cope with the stresses of daily living, as well as with unexpected trauma.
